The OEM shocks on BMW R1200GS and GSA motorcycles have proven to be under-sprung from the factory for the majority of riders.  If you ride with luggage or a passenger, or weigh more than about 170 pounds with gear on,  you will definitely feel the difference in performance these springs offer.  The progressively wound springs get firmer as they compress, meaning the closer you get to bottoming out, the more they will resist it.  Your bike will bottom-out less, and feel more stable being pushed hard into corners with this kit. NOTE: Before ordering, please look at your stock BMW shocks and see what brand they are.  There should be a label on the body of the shock that either says WP or SHOWA.  If your model year / shock brand does not align with any of the options in the menu above, please call us at 1-800-491-2926 for help selecting the correct spring kit.  There are cases where shocks were replaced under warranty on older bikes, but newer model shocks were used.
