The stock plastic BMW tail rack on the water-cooled R1200GS just isn't stable enough to carry any significant luggage. You may have noticed the rack flexes and shakes when a topcase or drybag is mounted. Touratech has developed this stainless steel reinforcement kit to stabilize the original plastic BMW rack on the R1200GS and allow you to carry the kind of loads this bike was made for.
This reinforcement bracket is a necessity if you have a topcase mount installed on your stock plastic rack, or if you frequently lash any kind of soft bag to it.
The kit is easy to install and comes with all the necessary stainless-steel hardware for mounting.
No fit with Vario Topcase rack insert installed.
